all time favorite baby products

So i wanted to do an all time favorite baby products that i love and couldn't have survived!

First item is the aveeno shampoo and lotion. Olivia had really bad eczema and we tried a lot of things before our doctor recommended aveeno lotion and shampoo. And within two days her eczema cleared right up. I have been using it up to today. It is a bit pricy but if you child has eczema I so recommend this product its amazing.

price is about 7.99 for lotion                                                                        shampoo is also about 7.99

My second favorite product was the fisher price swing. We couldn't get my daughter to sleep the first two days of being at home except on us. So we put her in her swing and vuala she slept for two hours straight and from then on she slept in her swing till she was 14 months. I know don't judge me but it was the only way  she would fall asleep and she loved it and so did we. It is not battery operated it plugs in so thats awesome. It also plays music and swings. You can have it swing side to side or front to back. I would have to say this one was my favorite product. Another awesome thing is it straps on the sholders and across the belly so they are super secured in it, and also all the pieces come off so u can wash it!

this item was 139.99

My third favorite item was the chicco key fit 30 car seat. I loved it! It was super cute. Its light weight and it was super easy to install. And thats coming from someone who can't do any of that stuff! So this was a great item.

the price on this one was 189.99

My fourth favorite item is our stroller. This may be my second favorite item. We really wanted a bugaboo stroller but we couldn't afford it. So we looked and looked and finally we found the hauck malibu all in one stroller set. I love this stroller so much. I may get it again for baby number two. We got ours in purple and got so many compliments on in. It comes with the bassinet. It also comes with the car seat adapter which was awesome. Also when they get older u can use the regular seat for them. It also comes with a bassinet stand so u can use when u travel. Olivia never liked the bassinet so for us we never really used it.

we bought ours for 200 dollars we got in on sale. right now at target it is 349 (its so worth the money)

My favorite diapers would have to be the target brand of diapers. they are super affordable and they hold up really well. I have never had a problem with leaking, or soaking through. I also like their unscented wipes.

My favorite bottles when she was young were the doc brown. After six months we changed to the avent bottles which are awesome!

Those are my must have baby products of all time. ive tried quite a bit of products and this is all i found that i would buy again for our second baby. If u have any products that u like that u would like to share leave a comment and let us know!

a day in the life of this mommy

I know its been a while since my last blog guys. Life has gotten busy and hectic all of a sudden. So i though i would update you first on whats been going on. So livy is doing great she is now 13 months! she has started walking! woohoo!!! She is just so amazing. She is a big jokester and loves to make you laugh. One thing we are struggling with her is getting her comfortable around other people. She is super attached to Justin and I. She tends to have melt downs with other people. But other than that she is great!

Update on husband. He got accepted in to wright states nursing school! woop woop so proud of my husband. So one of the reasons life has gotten so hectic.  He is really enjoying his classes and hes finding the program quite simple, but then again what would u expect from someone who never studies and makes straight A's.  So on a side note we had a bit of a scare with him this past week. We went for a routine check up for Justin. The doctor found three moles that looked cancerous so he had them removed and biopsied. One of the moles came back abnormal and has to go back in to have more of it removed. Luckily it's not cancer but it could have been if he had waited longer.

Ok mommy update. So I also began school in the last two weeks. I am finishing up my calculations and dosages, and med term. These classes have been tough for me because I can't find the time to study, but I have been making it work. I have never wanted to do something in my entire life as much as I want to become a nurse!

Ok so what does a day in the life of a stay at home mom look like i will show u!

So wake up time at the rogers household is between 7-8 am
liv and i like to cuddle for about an hour and watch her cartoons.

at about 9 am we both have breakfast and clean kitchen

10ish i pick up the house while livs crawls around the house for a bit

at 11 she gets a bath and takes a nap. and thats when i get to study

at 1 she gets up and we make lunch. after lunch we play together for a while or until she gets tired

at about 3 justin comes home and i get to study some more.

at 4ish we make dinner and at five jus leaves for work

at 5 liv takes a nap and i get to shower and get back to studying

and at 8 jus comes home and i get mommy time meaning studying

So yea thats what my life looks like m-f. i will try to update more often!

10 months today!

So sorry I have not updated in so long. It's been a hectic crazy few months.  First off Olivia is 10 months today!  Holy cow it is crazy! I still look at her and think of her as my little newborn baby. Time has flown by so fast.

We are starting to plan Olivia's big birthday bash. We have come up with the theme. Drum roll........................................................................................................................
 princess tea party!

By planning we mean I have pintrested A LOT of ideas lol.

So lets start of by telling you all about Olivia:

  • Her first word was Dadda
  • She is not a big fan of sweets
  • her fav foods are squash, avocado, and sweet potatoes
  • she started crawling just before nine months
  • she is standing up on furniture
  • she has three and a half teeth
  • she loves bath time
  • her fav toy is a plastic water bottle lol
  • she finally started going to our church nursery, and is struggling with it a bit
  • she is no longer napping maybe one if we are lucky
  • she still has her blue eyes
So about mommy. Remember in January when I said i was loosing weight lol. Well I totally stopped and gained all the weight back plus more! womp womp.  I know  I know its bad, but last month I went to the doctor and it was the first time that a doctor had commented on my weight and it hit me. Holy shit I am really fat like really fat and unhealthy and if I don't change things now I am going to have serious health issues in the future, and I don't want to pass those issues to Olivia. I bawled my eyes out that whole day. I got up that morning and decided I was going to change. So fast forward three weeks and here I am eight lbs lighter and eating healthy and working out six days a week. I am also training for my first 5k in September. So I am super excited and motivated. Lets hope that doesn't change.
So I also changed my major AGAIN. I was going to school for nursing but the wait list and the amount of time away from Olivia just didn't seem right for me. I looked up different things and found Medical Assistant and I love everything about it. So I start my program in October and will be done next June. I am excited to have a job that will allow me to be  with Olivia on the weekends and holidays.

Anyway I will try to keep you all more updated. Thanks for reading friends!

neglected

So its been so long since my last blog update. So sorry it has been so hectic with school and taking care of Olivia.

Here are Olivia's updates. Since my last post in January Olivia got sick at the end of January and we took her to the hospital a couple of times because she was having trouble breathing and had a lot of phlegm. After our third visit they finally admitted her and she was diagnosed with RSV.  It was one of the hardest things seeing Olivia in the hospital. Thank goodness she was only in the hospital for a couple of days. Once we got home it didn't take long for her to be 100%.

Olivia's big milestones

  • she began eating cereal in January
  • she learned how to roll over from her back to her front and vise versa in the hospital
  • she has her two front bottom teeth
  • she is now sitting on her own
  • she stands up and can hold her self up for a few seconds
  • she is starting to learn to crawl
  • she can now wave bye or hi lol
  • she reaches out for Justin and i when people are holding her
  • she also started eating veggies
  • traveled cross country to California for the first time
  • met her grandpa sal, uncle Eddie, aunt Janet, aunt Joanny, aunt Joanna, and aunt Karina
  • She got to meet her godmothers Lily and Merli
  • Got to go to the beach

So those are the biggest things that have happened in the last few months. She is now seven months and I love watching her grow into a sweet, funny (has mom's sense of humor duh),beautiful girl. I adore her so much. Although it has been amazing watching her grow its also a little sad. I still remember the day we first brought her home and I feel like it was just yesterday. My baby is growing up so fast, but I feel blessed that I have been able to stay home and watch every single minute of her life. She has brought me so much happiness and love into my life I am the happiest I have been in my entire life.

So as for me I have been a bit stressed trying to balance having a baby, school, keeping up with the house, being a wife, my fitness, and my relationship with God. I have never had to juggle so many things at once. I wish i was super women and I didn't have to sleep but I am not. I am exhausted a lot. I think that's my only complaint, I am sooo tired all the time. And in case you were wondering about my anxiety its been great! I have been feeling amazing I finally got to see my family in California and it was the best trip ever, although i wish we would have stayed longer.Justin and I also celebrated our five year anniversary and we had a blast we went out for dinner and went out to Cincinnati it was amazing! My fitness was put on hold for a month hahaha. I know terrible right? After Olivia got sick I got sick for about a week and a half, and then we went to California so I ate like a total  lard ass. So once we got back I started working out again and I have been on it!

So that is the update. I will try to update more!

our first vacation

Tuesday we took our first vacation in a very, very long time. It was also Olivia's first vacation. We went to Chicago which is a four hour drive. We left at six a.m. and got to Chicago at eleven Ohio time. Olivia did really well sleeping most of the way and the rest of the time she was entertained by her toys. Some tips on long drives are: def.  have toys, lots of toys lol. Also I have my phone with music she likes, and I put it next to her in the car and that kept her entertained most of the drive and it also puts her to sleep. So that was good. I also made sure I had bottles made for the whole trip.

We had so much fun exploring a new city together as a family. Olivia seemed to enjoy all the bright lights. And we just loved getting away for a while. We got to eat a lot of delicious food! The pizza is AMAZING! Seriously its sooo good. We also went to Superdawg that we had seen on Food Network and Travel Channel and it was pretty good but I didn't think it was much better than your average hot dog place. Their fudge sundae was really good.  I do have to say you walk so much in Chicago that I feel like it would be impossible to gain weight lol.

So I know I have mentioned that I have been suffering from anxiety for about two years now. I finally got on medication in September and it has been working wonderfully! BUT while in Chicago I got some anxiety and it kind of sucked because it def made our vacation less enjoyable. On our way back home I had a really bad anxiety attack and it was horrible especially being hours away from home. I finally calmed down after playing  with Olivia in the car and getting some food. So I def need to work on relaxing and calming down when I start to get anxious especially because we have an ever bigger trip coming up! We are going to visit my family in California in two months.

So a few updates on Olivia,  she is going to be five months in two days! She rolled over for the first time the day after Christmas! She is also starting to sit on her own. She is  talking so much more and super loud lol. She likes to scream super high pitched lol its honestly the funniest thing ever. On her last doctors appointment she weighed 14 lbs and was 24 inches long. So she is right on track with her development.

As for me I am still trying to loose weight. During the holiday season I have lost six lbs which isn't much but considering all the delicious food there was and how much I ate I would say I did pretty good. I also just started spring classes this week and so far its going good, hope I will keep on track. Its going to be especially hard since Livs isn't napping so much during the day, but I am just going to have to work harder. So that is all for this update.

Also if you subscribe to my blog I will be having a giveaway next month so leave me a comment and I will choose a winner on Feb 14th! No need to be a mama to enjoy this gift!
